1. Quotes are estimates, not fixed prices
Every quote the workshop sends is an estimate, based on the brief as written. If the brief changes — site conditions, dimensions, finishes, scope of work, materials — the quote is revised. A quote is not a fixed-price commitment until it is confirmed in writing on a signed quote sheet, and any referenced assumptions still hold.
Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date on the quote. After 30 days, board and hardware prices may have moved, and the workshop will re-confirm.
2. Site work and bulk supply require an advance before work starts
For site work (PG / hostel fit-out, school, office, hotel, residential project) and for bulk supply orders, the workshop's standing rule is:
- A minimum of 50% advance on the signed quote is required to confirm the engagement.
- The advance covers the workshop's commitment to buy material on the customer's behalf — primarily board, edge-band tape, hardware, and adhesive — and a part of the labour commitment.
- Material is not bought, and no work starts, until the advance clears the workshop's bank account.
- The balance is due in agreed milestones — typically 30% on sample sign-off (or at the midpoint of making, where there is no sample) and 20% on dispatch.
For manufacturing-only orders (single pieces, study tables, side tables, and other one-off items bought off the marketplace), advance terms are quoted case by case.
3. Cancellations and refunds
If the customer cancels after the advance has cleared:
- Material that has already been bought on the customer's behalf is non-refundable. The workshop quotes the material balance at cost and returns it to the customer at the customer's option (Bhopal workshop floor).
- Labour committed and design time spent to date are billed at the workshop's standing per-day rate and deducted from the advance.
- Any remainder of the advance is returned within 14 working days by the same payment method.
4. Sample sign-off
For bulk supply, and for site work where the quote is ₹50,000 or more, the workshop builds a first sample of the first piece in the agreed specification. The customer signs the sample off in person at the workshop, or by photograph plus written email confirmation. Once the sample is signed off, the rest of the order is built to that reference.
Site work quoted under ₹50,000 does not include a sample: it is made directly from the approved drawing and specification.
If the customer changes the specification after the sample (or, for smaller jobs, the drawing) is signed off, the workshop re-quotes and the dispatch schedule is revised.
5. Dispatch and delivery
- Dispatch dates are planned, not guaranteed — every order depends on material availability, workshop capacity, and the schedule that was agreed.
- Within Bhopal and within ~15 km of the workshop, the workshop handles delivery in its own tempo or arranged tempo.
- Outside 15 km and out of state, the workshop arranges transport through partner transporters. Transport cost and risk in transit pass to the customer on dispatch.
- For site-work engagements, the workshop's install team or a trained partner installer handles assembly on site, in the agreed scope.
6. Defects and warranty
The workshop warrants joinery and finish against manufacturing defects for 12 months from the date of dispatch. Manufacturing defects include loose joints, peeling laminate beyond edge-band wear, and finish cracking unrelated to moisture or impact damage.
The warranty does not cover damage from moisture, impact, misuse, modification by the customer or a third party, or natural movement of board and timber over time. Replacement parts are charged at cost plus dispatch.
7. GST and invoicing
The Divine Workshop is registered under GST (GSTIN 23ANJPV4320N1ZO). GST is charged at the applicable rate, currently 18%, and is shown as a separate line on every quote and invoice, together with the total payable.
Every order receives a GST tax invoice carrying the workshop's GSTIN. GST-registered customers can use it to claim input tax credit.
8. Disputes
If something goes wrong, write to projects@thedivineworkshop.in with the order reference in the subject line. The workshop will reply within seven working days with a path forward. Disputes that cannot be resolved by email are subject to the jurisdiction of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
9. No legal advice
This page is a summary written in plain language so customers and the workshop can share the same understanding. It is not legal advice. Where there is a conflict between this page and a signed quote, the signed quote wins. Where there is a conflict between this page and a future formal contract, the formal contract wins once it is signed.
