Our story

From site work in Bhopal to The Divine Workshop.

The work started in 1998: furniture made to order for Bhopal homes and local businesses, built in the workshop and then delivered and fitted on site. For most of those years it ran quietly, growing by word of mouth — one wardrobe, one room, one site at a time.

A couple of years ago it became The Divine Workshop, a GST-registered business, so that homeowners, builders, institutions and businesses could all work with us on proper invoices and written terms. Around the same time, a small ready-made home range went onto Amazon.

Custom projects are still the heart of the work: furniture made to your drawing, your room and your date — and fitted by the people who made it.

How we work

Made for one room, not a warehouse.

Nothing custom is made ahead of time. Each piece starts from your measurements — or from our own site visit — and is made in the workshop only after the size, material and finish are agreed in writing.

For bulk orders and jobs of ₹50,000 and above, one sample is made first and signed off by you. The rest of the run is built to match it, so the fiftieth hostel room looks like the first.

We deliver, fit and check the work on site before handover. If something is not right, we come back and fix it.

What we hold to

Five promises.

Plain rules, so you know what to expect before you pay an advance.

Sizes and finish in writing first.

We do not start cutting until material, finish and dimensions are confirmed in writing. A photo or a sketch is enough to begin the conversation; it is not enough to begin the work.

A date we can keep.

The schedule is set at the estimate. We will not promise a delivery date shorter than the work needs, and if something slips we tell you first.

No surprise costs.

The estimate lists materials, finish, lead time, payment terms and what is not included. Any change after that is agreed with you before we make it.

Samples where they matter.

For bulk work and jobs of ₹50,000 and above, one piece is made and signed off first; it is the reference the rest of the order is checked against. Smaller site work is made straight from the approved drawing.

A straight answer.

If a brief is not right for us, we say so on the first call — and, where we can, tell you who might be a better fit.

For frames and load-bearing parts.

Bed frames, table tops, chair bodies and anything that has to carry weight for years.

Plywood, MDF and board.

For wardrobes, cabinets, panelling and fitted units. Plywood is our default for anything that holds weight; MDF where a smooth painted finish matters more.

Polish, lacquer, laminate, upholstery.

Finish matched to your sample or chosen from ours. Upholstery and fabric work — cushions, headboards, seating — is done by tailors we work with regularly.
